A freestanding emergency department in the Florida Panhandle is hiring a Med-Surg RN. This is a placement managed by Lela Boom Consulting Group.

About the role

Reporting within the Med-Surg unit, the RN conducts thorough patient assessments at admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and communicating changes in patient status. The nurse carries out provider-ordered procedures and monitoring while maintaining accurate, timely documentation in the patient's medical record. Medication administration responsibilities include monitoring for therapeutic response and taking appropriate action if an unintended response occurs. The RN also educates patients, families, and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care — translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.

What you need

• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• (RN) Registered Nurse licensure
• 1 year of RN experience required (does not need to be in acute care)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule

Position is available on days or nights, both with rotating weekends.

Pay and benefits

$27.72 - $39.60/hr
