A primary care practice in Southern California is hiring a Primary Care Physician (PCP). This is a placement managed by Lela Boom Consulting Group.
About the role
The Primary Care Physician provides comprehensive primary medical care to enrolled participants, including history and physicals, ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostics, functional and mental status evaluations, and management of acute and chronic illness, medication adjustment, and specialist referral. The physician serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT), participating in initial, semi-annual, unscheduled, and annual assessments as well as daily morning updates, and acts as supervising physician for the site nurse practitioner and/or physician assistant. The role also includes inpatient attending coverage when a participant is hospitalized or admitted to a nursing facility, and participation in QAPI activities and organizational committees. The position reports to the Medical Director, coordinating with the Program Director for Clinic, and may require use of a personal vehicle.
What you need
- MD or DO; board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
- Active California medical license and current DEA registration
- Minimum one (1) year documented experience working with a frail or elderly population
- Advanced certification or added qualification in Geriatric Medicine (ABIM/ABFP) preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Must obtain staff privileges at contracted hospitals prior to start
- Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases with immunizations current prior to direct participant contact
Schedule
This is a full-time, day shift position.
Pay and benefits
$250,000 - $280,000 per year.
