About the role
Reporting to the VP of Emergency Services, the Director oversees all operations of the adult emergency department, leading a team of 80–85 FTEs. The Director drives clinical quality by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety, managing variation in clinical practice, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. A strong focus is placed on efficient patient throughput — including volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning — alongside the development of policies and nursing standards that ensure patient and family needs are consistently assessed and met. The Director also plays a key role in budget management, including labor productivity, staffing control, operating expense oversight, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities, while collaborating with administrative leadership and physicians to sustain and grow service offerings.
What you need
- 3+ years of recent (within the last year) acute care Director of ED experience; experience must be from a large facility
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- Master's degree preferred
Schedule
Days, Monday through Friday, no weekends.
Pay and benefits
$160,000 - $180,000 per year plus Incentive Bonus: +17.5% - 26.25%; Sign On: No sign on; Relocation assistance: Case by case
