About the role
The Nurse Manager reports to department leadership and holds full accountability for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all services delivered within the Emergency Department. This leader collaborates closely with nursing staff, physicians, and cross-departmental management to ensure that emergency nursing care is delivered in conformance with recognized techniques, procedures, and established standards. The role carries responsibility for developing and recommending policies, procedures, and programs that improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of patient care in partnership with medical staff and other disciplines. The Nurse Manager also oversees budget preparation, physician relationship management, and the coordination of a multi-disciplinary team to resolve operational and patient care issues.
What you need
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Advanced degree preferred
- Current RN License in the State of Texas or compact license
- AHA or ARC BLS provider
- AHA or ARC, ACLS, and PALS within 6 months
- TNCC is required within 18 months
- ENPC or CEN within 18 months
- Five years of recent progressive management experience to include: management of staff including supervisory positions, budget preparation, physician relationship management, resolution of operational and patient care issues, demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, and coordination of a multi-disciplinary team
- Emergency Department experience is required
Schedule
Full-time, days, no weekends.
Pay and benefits
From $51.17/hr, based on years of experience, plus up to $20,000 sign-on bonus. Relocation assistance considered case by case.
