A primary care practice in Southwest Florida is hiring a Section Coordinator. This is a placement managed by Lela Boom Consulting Group.
About the role
The Section Coordinator serves as a working expert within the hospital-based rapid-response laboratory, performing stat procedures, analyzing testing samples, and executing quality control procedures with full documentation per protocol. The coordinator prioritizes, performs, or delegates laboratory testing based on accurate patient information, staff competency evaluations, productivity guidelines, and recognized standards of care. This role supports the Laboratory Manager with operational updates and feedback, and assists leadership in training department personnel and developing staff to meet regulatory agency requirements such as CAP. The coordinator is also expected to model positive leadership, maintain effective working relationships, and foster cooperation across the team to ensure consistent delivery of laboratory services.
What you need
- A 2-Year/Associate Degree in Science is required
- A 4-Year/Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology is preferred
- State of Florida Technologist Supervisory License REQUIRED
- ASCP or similar certification is very helpful
- 3 years of previous experience as a Medical Technologist REQUIRED
Schedule
Full-time, nights with rotating weekends.
Pay and benefits
$32.62 - $48.93/hr
